For over ten years, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in the Lower Rhine region of Germany has provided an innovative, interdisciplinary and international education to young minds from around the world. We offer a total of 36 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in four multidisciplinary faculties: Technology and Bionics, Life Sciences, Society and Economics, and Communication and Environment. Our scientifically-oriented degree programmes combine an applied academic approach with a broad international scope, resulting in a high-quality education and teaching and research with significant real-world relevance. 75% of our degree programmes are taught in English. Over 7,300 students from 122 different countries are currently pursuing a degree in our uniquely international and intercultural learning community. International collaboration is a strength of ours, visible in our active network of more than 90 partner universities in 38 countries. We are connected to the broader world, but also deeply rooted in our own the Dutch-German EUREGIO region as well.
Market dynamics, competition and changing customer expectations are creating ever tougher demands for companies, not only in terms of product quality, but also labour rights and protections, and the environmental impact of operations. This trend is fuelling demand for skilled specialists able to navigate the complex rules, regulations and norms in these areas. At Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, our degree programmes combine a solid foundation in the natural sciences with applied specialist content and the study of applicable legal regulations, particularly in the areas of quality management, environmental protection, work safety and hygiene. Additional emphasis is placed on developing students’ managerial expertise and communication skills. This applies particularly to the degree programme Quality, Environment, Safety and Hygiene B.Sc. and its interdisciplinary curriculum which provides students with a solid background in the rules, requirements and legal specifications of various sectors.

General requirements for the appointment of new professors are derived from § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW). The following qualifications are therefore mandatory for all applicants to this position:
