For over ten years, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in the Lower Rhine region of Germany has provided an innovative, interdisciplinary and international education to young minds from around the world. Research Associate in Digitalization in Teaching

Your tasks

  • You will implement digital teaching concepts (e-learning) in agreement with teachers and examiners. Your focus will be blended learning scenarios as well as digital and hybrid exams. Here you also pay attention to the topic of accenssibility.
    • You are the main contact person of the faculty for all questions and improvements regarding digital formats in teaching and exams
    • You will independently create instructions, guidelines and templates and will teach the staff in new technologies, also with regard to accessibility.
    • You take part in creating a digitisation strategy for the faculty and will be responsible of its creation process
    • You will be a hub in the e-learning network of the university
    • Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) and PDF/UA-Standard
    • You create accessibility websites, graphics, documents, audio- and videocontent

Your profile

  • You successfully completed a scientific study programme in (media) computer science or in engineering/natural sciences with a focus in computer science (Master degree or equivalent)
    • You have knowledge in several of the following fields:
    o Learning-Management-Systems, especially Moodle
    o Authoring tools for e-learning
    o Audio- and video creation and editing
    o Graphics
    o Web development and/or Content Management Systems
    o Administration of servers o Principles of teaching for higher level education
    o E-assessment
    o Creation of strategies for organizations
    • You have strong language skills in German and English (B2 level)
    • You work structurized and independently. You command strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team
    • You are motivated and possess strong communication skills
